Add Custom 2FA Options: Touch ID, Yubikey, Face ID, etc.

With the extension of 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication), each user can add an alternative to mobile authentication, enabling more convenient options such as using the Touch ID on a MacBook.

When 2FA is activated in the settings, every user needs a mobile app like Authy or Google Authenticator to access MOCO. Exceptions are time tracking and contacts. After entering the password, a code displayed in the authentication app must be entered.

In the profile under "Password & Security", each user can add further authentication options according to their preferences. These are then confirmed via the 2FA code from the authentication app. Possible 2FA options can include:

For example, add the following 2FA options

  • Touch ID: Confirmation can be made via MacBook by placing a finger.
  • Yubikey: USB security key with fingerprint recognition or password entry.
  • Apple Passkey:  Apple's passwordless sign-in method across multiple devices.
