Activate option
You can activate the option in the settings under "Expenses" > "Budgets".
Record budgets
With the activation, the new menu item "Budgets" appears in the side navigation (see illustration). You can get there with one click via the blue link that is offered directly after activation. Record the budgets there.
Assign expenses and fixed costs
With the activation, the option to assign expenses and fixed costs becomes available. Now assign everything for 2024. Done!

Budgets vs. Categories
Categories can only be assigned at the item level for incoming invoices and personal expenses and are mainly helpful for preparing accounting. Budgets, on the other hand, encompass all types of expenses and offer an easily controllable overall view. For example, cost centers can be represented this way.

Planned Expenses
Currently, fixed costs and expenses with a future date are displayed as planned here.
Planned expenses as a new feature will be able to complement the view in the coming weeks – making the expense forecast even more controllable.
Budgets with amount 0
Use a budget with amount 0 if you only want to see the total - for example, "room rent"
Deviant Fiscal Year
The budgets refer to the calendar year. Accounts with a different fiscal year, please be patient.
